Raven design in black and red with clam shell and emerging human in its mouth. Off white paper, black edged beige matting, black frame. "Artists Proof" in lower left corner. Excellent condition. In Northcoast legend the Raven is credited with creating the world -- the lakes, rivers, ocean, night and day, scattering the eggs of salmon and trout and filling the forests with animals. The first humans were hiding in a giant clam shell and Raven gave them life by releasing them onto the beach and giving them fire.
