"Grouse has been a significant food source for my family and community. a male grouse can stand on a rock, stump or fallen log and then begin flapping his wings back and forth, building up speed, creating a distinctive drumming sound. Represented in this painting, the drumbeat connects us all, when all creatures hear and feel the sound collectively." -- Provided by artist.
